Venue and Seating Information

Madison Square Garden is a multi-level indoor arena with a circular bowl design and four main seating levels: Floor, 100 Level, 200 Level, and 300 Level. The venue sits above Penn Station, making train and subway access especially convenient for visitors arriving in Midtown Manhattan.

For basketball, center 100 Level sideline sections are a strong choice for direct views of the court and player movement. The 200 Level offers an elevated perspective that can make plays easier to follow, while the 300 Level provides a broad view of the game at a more budget-conscious distance. Very high 300 Level corner seats may feel far from the action, though they still provide an overall view of the court.

Parking Information

On-site parking is very limited around Madison Square Garden, and nearby options can become expensive or fill quickly on event nights. Consider comparing garage locations and pricing before traveling.

• Nearby commercial garages: Garages around Penn Station and 8th Avenue are typically a short walk from the arena. Event parking is approximately $30–$80, with prices potentially higher during busy games.
• Garages toward Herald Square or Chelsea: These are generally a 10–15 minute walk away and may cost around $20–$50, depending on demand.
• Street parking: Metered spaces are limited and restrictions are strictly enforced, so street parking is not a reliable event-day plan.

Avoid leaving parking arrangements until the last minute, when nearby garages may be full or charging higher event rates. Public transportation is a practical alternative, and rideshare users should anticipate postgame traffic and pickup delays.
